BOOK OVERVIEW
Jonah is addressed by God, to go and preach against evil and injustice. But instead of going to Nineveh, Jonah tries to run away, finding a ship. Whilst asleep God sends a huge storm to wake Jonah. Jonah then then does a poor attempt of calling the people to repentance, then wishes that he dies. But God stops Jonah's plan to die, by providing a tomb in the stomach of a large fish. Jonah utters prayer whilst in the the stomach where he thanks God for not abandoning him. Finally once spit out of the fish, God tells Jonah to preach in Nineveh. There Jonah has one day to preach his 5 word sermon, but whatever his motives are for only preaching 5 words it doesn't matter because the entire city repent. God then forgives the Ninevites and doesn't bring destruction down on them.
