BOOK OVERVIEW
God sent a plague of locusts to destroy the land of Judah in response to the sinfulness and unfaithfulness of the people. This was the setting for Joel’s plea that the people return to the Lord in repentance and faith. Joel warned a far worse day—the day of the Lord, a day of God’s judgement—would come. This would be a time when God would punish all people who rejected Him and His ways.
Joel ends with God’s promises to restore Judah. If God’s people will repent and serve Him, they shall be delivered; but, if they choose to act against God, then the day of the Lord must be a day of judgement and destruction to them also.

1. God is the judge of everyone!
2. God judges the things we do right and wrong.
