BOOK OVERVIEW
Hosea was called by God to prophesy over Israel not only in words but by living out the relationship of God and Israel. He did this prophetically by marrying a prostitute, and despite her unfaithfulness to him he stays faithful and loves his wife. After repeated warnings to the Israelites and the impending wrath of God's judgment the story comes to an amazing conclusion when Israel turns from their sinful ways and falls on the grace of God. He saves the Israelites from their sin and promises to restore them to their rightful place.

1. Salvation is when someone is saved.
2. God offers to save us, from our own sins and the pain it causes.
KEY TEACHING POINTS

1. Salvation is what we receive when someone saves us.
2. God saves us from receiving the punishment for our sin.

1. Salvation is the process of being saved from our sin.
2. It does not matter how bad the sin, God can always save.
AGE APPROPRIATE ADAPTATIONS

For the age of the children in Mini's you will need to heavily adapt the story to make it appropriate to the listeners.
We suggest speaking of the prophet Hosea and his repeated calls to the Jewish people to turn from sin and be saved and to not include the narrative of his wife.

For the age of the children in Kids Church you will need to partially adapt the story to make it appropriate to the listeners.
We suggest speaking of the prophet Hosea and that He had an unfaithful wife. Feel free to emphasies how Hosea was always faithful to his wife just like God is to us.
